In 2004 the Newfoundland Club of Northern California formed Newfoundland Health and Rescue, Inc 501(c)3.  Forming NH&R Inc. was necessary for insurance purposes and to comply with District Animal Control regulations. We still rely heavily on donations from the public. Now those donations can be a tax write-off for the donor.

Purchases through NH&R are on a quid pro basis. The cost of an Item to NH&R is not tax deductible, however, the donation value of the item is. This value is stated for each item. Also, amounts over the donation value are tax deductible. You will be sent the proper tax preparation paperwork in January of the year following your donation(s).
